The best learning environment for each child is one in which curiosity is nurtured and learning is enjoyable. With this belief, SERAC-Bangladesh continues to implement the DreamWings (স্বপ্নডানা) project, providing interactive and child-friendly learning experiences to children in underserved communities. The project incorporates learning activities that help children develop teamwork, healthy habits, personal hygiene, respectful behavior, and essential everyday life skills, alongside Montessori-based practical life activities, personal safety education, breathing exercises, creative activities such as origami and drawing, colour and shape recognition, body-part identification, good manners, and interactive games and rhymes to support their overall development.
July was another productive month for DreamWings, with learning sessions conducted across several educational centers in Mirpur. As part of Session-5, children participated in engaging activities at Nizamuddin Memorial Pre-School (11 No. Millat Camp), Nizamuddin Memorial Pre-School (12 Kurmitola Camp, Chandu Nehari), Amader Pathshala, and Al Aqsa Model Academy (Paris Road, Mirpur-11). Children participated in a variety of fun-filled activities, including Sisimpur’s “Let’s Work Together”, “Cover Your Mouth When You Sneeze”, Disney’s “The Hockey Champ”, and “Ringa Ringa Roses”. These activities encouraged teamwork, healthy habits, physical movement, and active participation while keeping children engaged throughout the sessions.
The learning journey continued with Session-6 at Nizamuddin Memorial Pre-School (11 No. Millat Camp). This session introduced children to Origami Easy Fish, allowing them to explore creativity while improving concentration and fine motor skills. They also took part in “Learning the Names of Colours in Bangla” with Ms. Mun, where interactive games and conversations helped strengthen their vocabulary and colour recognition enjoyably.
A defining feature of DreamWings is its ability to transform everyday lessons into memorable experiences. Rather than relying solely on conventional teaching methods, each session encourages children to observe, participate, ask questions, and learn through exploration. This approach not only strengthens their understanding of different concepts but also supports the development of confidence, communication skills, creativity, and positive social behaviour.
