YOUTH CATALYST: Youth Engagement for Strengthening Sexual and Reproductive Health and Improving Adaptability and Resilience to Climate Change in Bangladesh

SERAC-Bangladesh is leading a groundbreaking youth-driven initiative to enhance sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and climate resilience across the country’s most vulnerable communities. Following the historic youth-led movement in July-August 2024, which led to the formation of a youth-focused interim government, SERAC-Bangladesh is leveraging this momentum to address critical health and environmental challenges through youth leadership and advocacy.

This initiative actively engages university students and youth leaders to advocate for inclusive SRHR services and climate adaptation policies, ensuring marginalized populations and communities in haor, charland, hill tracts, and tea gardens—have equitable access to essential services. By fostering collaboration between youth, government authorities, and key stakeholders, the project aims to drive policy reforms, improve healthcare accessibility, and develop climate-adaptive health service models tailored to at-risk communities.

Operating in Dhaka, Chandpur, Noakhali, Sunamganj, and Bandarban, this initiative aligns with existing Sida-funded projects to maximize impact. Through research, policy engagement, and youth-led advocacy, SERAC-Bangladesh is working to ensure a healthier, more resilient future for Bangladesh’s youth and marginalized communities.
