Youth Voices for Healthy City
The Project
Youth Voices for Healthy City is an initiative of SERAC-Bangladesh in collaboration with FYL, designed to promote a healthier, more inclusive, and youth-friendly Mymensingh city through meaningful youth participation, community engagement, and evidence-based advocacy.
The project aims to empower adolescents and young people to identify urban health challenges, assess community needs, and actively contribute to improving access to equitable, inclusive, and quality health services. Through the establishment of the Mymensingh City Health Advocacy Forum, a youth-led citywide health needs assessment, capacity-building initiatives, community awareness activities, and stakeholder dialogues, the project will create opportunities for young people to engage with local government representatives, health service providers, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
The initiative focuses on key urban health priorities, including sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), mental health and psychosocial wellbeing, family planning, gender equality, gender-based violence prevention, and adolescent- and youth-friendly health services. By strengthening youth leadership, promoting community-driven solutions, and facilitating constructive engagement with decision-makers, the project seeks to ensure that the voices, needs, and priorities of young people are recognized and reflected in urban health planning and decision-making, contributing to a more responsive, inclusive, and healthier Mymensingh city.
