Seven school campaigns in August 2025 to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) among adolescents. These campaigns were held across Islambug, Nobodoy Bazar, Paikpara, Kamrangirchor and Maniknagar, reaching a total of 275 adolescents, teachers, and school authorities. The sessions were facilitated by 78 trained youth volunteers, mentors, and four general practitioners (GPs).
The school campaigns addressed essential issues such as Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Adolescent Health. A wide range of information, education, and communication (IEC) and behavior change communication (BCC) materials were used to make the sessions interactive and engaging. Sanitary pads were distributed among adolescent girls to encourage positive menstrual hygiene practices, while key rings and OGSB Call Center stickers were provided to increase access to health-related information. Quizzes were also organized to reinforce learning, with souvenirs given to winners as motivation.
The SBCC officers ensured the smooth implementation of the campaigns. Their collective efforts helped reduce stigma, improve adolescent knowledge, and strengthen school–community collaboration on SRHR.
