The Youth Green Entrepreneurship Development Training has been successfully completed, marking a major step forward in empowering young people to drive sustainable and eco-friendly business innovation in Bangladesh. Held from 19–23 October 2025 and 25–29 October 2025 at Rangpur Sadar, the training was conducted under the Youth Green Entrepreneurship Development Project. The project is being implemented by SERAC-Bangladesh with support from Democracywatch and funded by the British Council.
The project is currently being implemented in Rangpur Sadar, Gangachara, and Badarganj upazilas, with a shared mission: to nurture a new generation of environmentally conscious entrepreneurs.
🎯 Training Objective
The training aimed to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to become green entrepreneurs- capable of leading sustainable ventures that create jobs, protect the environment, and support climate-resilient development.
A total of 60 participants- 30 women and 30 men, took part in the sessions. They included college and university students, as well as young entrepreneurs from diverse fields. Despite their varied backgrounds, all shared a common vision: to build a greener, more sustainable future through business innovation.
The five-day training blended theory, practice, and inspiration, focusing on essential areas of green entrepreneurship:
●Understanding Green Entrepreneurship and Climate Action
Participants explored how environmentally friendly enterprises can play a vital role in mitigating climate change and promoting sustainable growth.
●Building Eco-friendly Business Ventures
They gained practical insights into business planning, market analysis, and managing sustainable enterprises that are both profitable and planet-friendly.
●Job Creation through Environmental Conservation
Through case studies and local examples, participants learned how green businesses can create employment while preserving natural resources and biodiversity.
🌱 Impact and Reflections
Participants described the training as transformative, emphasizing that it helped them rethink how business can be a force for environmental good. Many shared that they now feel more confident to launch initiatives that combine climate consciousness, innovation, and social responsibility.
The training not only enhanced their entrepreneurial and leadership skills but also deepened their commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices.
