In February 2026, SERAC-Bangladesh organized five networking meetings involving 57 youth volunteers and General Practitioners (GPs). The meetings were held in Shohid Farukh Road, Rayerbazar, Mogbazar, Badda, and Mirpur-11 under Dhaka North and South City Corporations.
These meetings served as an important platform to strengthen coordination between community youth and healthcare providers engaged in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) initiatives. Discussions focused on clarifying the objectives of youth–GP collaboration, reviewing recent volunteer activities, planning future actions, and addressing community-level challenges in health service delivery.
Key issues discussed included stigma and misinformation related to SRHR, barriers to accessing contraception, awareness of safe Menstrual Regulation (MR) and post-abortion care, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, stigma reduction, and youth leadership development. Participants emphasized the importance of improving the quality of SRH services and strengthening community awareness to make services more accessible and youth-friendly.
The meetings were facilitated by youth mentors, community volunteers, and SBCC officers, whose active engagement helped ensure that discussions reflected grassroots realities and fostered meaningful collaboration between youth and healthcare providers.
