An interactive Peace Adda was held in Rajshahi on 9 April 2026, organized by SERAC-Bangladesh in collaboration with the Rajshahi Urban Youth Council, with support from CIVICUS. The session brought together young participants to engage in meaningful discussions on important social and global issues, creating a platform for dialogue, learning, and youth empowerment.
The discussion focused on misinformation and cyber safety, highlighting the importance of verifying information before sharing, identifying credible sources, and developing safe digital habits. Participants emphasized the need for strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and responsible online behavior to stay secure in the digital world.
The session also addressed violence prevention through safe intervention. Participants were encouraged to respond responsibly in challenging situations, avoid taking the law into their own hands, and seek support from appropriate authorities when necessary. The conversation reinforced the role of youth in promoting peace and responsible decision-making within their communities.
In addition, the Peace Adda explored the ongoing energy crisis, where participants shared practical ideas such as energy conservation, increased use of renewable energy, and raising community awareness about sustainable resource use. Overall, the event served as an impactful platform for youth engagement, empowering participants to become informed, responsible, and proactive citizens working toward a safer and more sustainable society.
