The Community Photovoice Exhibition, organized by SERAC-Bangladesh, demonstrated the transformative role of visual storytelling in promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). The initiative was implemented in collaboration with Ipas Bangladesh and supported by Global Affairs Canada through the HealthBridge Foundation of Canada.
Held on March 5, 2026, at Bongshal Muslim Colony, Dhaka, the exhibition provided a meaningful platform for youth leaders to present community realities through photography. Using the Photovoice methodology, young participants captured stories reflecting everyday challenges related to SRHR, including limited access to services, social stigma, gender inequality, and misinformation.
The exhibition went beyond artistic display and served as a space for community dialogue and advocacy. The photographs encouraged viewers to reflect on social norms that affect health choices, Menstrual Health Management, early marriage, and access to reproductive health information. At the same time, the event celebrated community strength, resilience, and youth leadership in driving positive change.
By centering youth voices and lived experiences, the initiative promoted awareness, empathy, and inclusive discussion. The Community Photovoice Exhibition continues to inspire community-driven advocacy toward a future where health, dignity, and rights are accessible to all.
