SERAC-Bangladesh’s ‘DreamWings’ project is dedicated to creating a vibrant and joyful world for children. Moving beyond traditional methods, our sessions across various schools in Mirpur incorporate unique elements designed to foster holistic development. Our core mission is to build children’s self-confidence and provide an educational environment where they feel inspired to create and learn every day.
A cornerstone of this project is the Montessori Method, through which children are taught practical life skills and essential daily activities. We have already successfully conducted several sessions across multiple schools. The 2nd sessions were completed at ‘Amader Pathshala’ and ‘Nizamuddin Memorial Preschool’ (Branch 2), Mirpur 12. Meanwhile, we have reached the 3rd session milestone at the Al Aqsa Model Academy and the Nizamuddin Memorial Pre-School branch in Mirpur 11.
In our ongoing sessions, we are emphasizing the importance of regular school attendance and personal hygiene. Children are learning proper handwashing techniques through both video demonstrations and practical exercises. To enhance their mental focus and composure, we have introduced special ‘Breathing Exercises.’ Furthermore, our ‘edu-tainment’ approach, combining moral lessons with popular cartoons and rhythmic rhymes, has received an overwhelming response from the students.
To make this journey even more impactful, we have already integrated several exciting and vital topics into our curriculum for upcoming sessions. To ensure personal safety, we will conduct sensitive awareness lessons on ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch.’ As part of cultural studies, children will explore their imagination through art and painting, as well as origami (the art of folding), which improves fine motor skills and patience. Additionally, we will introduce fun lessons on ‘Body Parts’ and many more creative activities.
SERAC-Bangladesh remains steadfast in its mission to ensure proper protection and an improved standard of living for underprivileged children. Through innovative methods, life-oriented education, and heartfelt care, we aim to gift these children a creative future. The spontaneous participation in every session reminds us that with the right guidance, every child can soar to infinite heights on the wings of their dreams.
