Formation Meeting of Kishoreganj District Advocacy Working Group was held on 23 November with the aim of strengthening family planning and improving the quality of healthcare.
The meeting was attended by SM Shaikat, Executive Director, SERAC-Bangladesh and Monjun Nahar, Lead Advocacy & Communication, Marie Stopes Bangladesh, Pulak Raha,CEO, Team Associate, Tonusree Manji, Officer Advocacy & Communication, Marie Stopes Bangladesh, Program Officer, Marie Stopes Bangladesh, Salim Miah, Assistant Director Program and members of District Advocacy Working Group were present at the meeting.
SM Shaikat, Executive Director, SERAC-Bangladesh, briefed the guests about the activities of the project, the role of the District Advocacy Working Committee and the goals, objectives and strategy of the project. He said that an Advocacy Working Committee has been formed with the participation of eminent citizens at the district level to assist the local government in improving the quality of family planning services through the participation of local government and people in the successful implementation of the project.
Honorable members of the District Advocacy Working Committee formed under the project exchanged views on the successful implementation of the project and various strategies.All of them committed that they will continue their advocacy activities to improve the quality of family planning services. Among the members of the Advocacy Committee are Bilkis Begum- General Secretary of Kishoreganj District Women’s Awami League, Secretary of Women’s Affairs of District Awami League, Md. Ruhul Amin- Former President, Kishoreganj Human Rights Forum, President, Kishoreganj Private Public Library Association, Secretary General,Kamrun Mohiuddin Welfare Trust Bangladesh, Ziaul Haque Baten- President, Former Darpan Cultural Association, Former Joint, Editor, Kishoreganj District Combined Social Movement, Senior Vice President, Civil Society Patubhanga Union, President, Ziaul Haque Baten Library (Reg. Kishore-54), Saifuddin Ahmed Lenin- District Representative, Bangladesh Pratidin, Shubh Sarkar, Shamizul Haque Babu, Md. Anwar Hossain, Tarifa Akter all the members committed that they will continue their advocacy activities to improve the quality of family planning services.
