SERAC-Bangladesh hosted a media sensitization meet-up in Netrokona on 17th September’ 2024, focusing on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Post-Abortion Care (PAC) services under the “Access to SRHR for Young Women” project, supported by SAAF/IPPF. The event aimed to enhance the quality of healthcare services through informed media coverage.
Media personnel from various known print media outlets participated in the meeting. Key discussions centered on improving accessibility to quality SRH services, SERAC-Bangladesh developed Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) materials, and promoting an SRH mobile application. The initiative includes effective awareness campaigns to educate the Netrokona community, increase knowledge about SRH health services, and create an enabling environment among family members and community stakeholders. Participants also identified barriers to accessing services and explored potential solutions.
The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration with the media to enhance public awareness and understanding of SRH, Family Planning, and PAC services, thereby fostering better access for the community.
