Photovoice: Uncovering Case Stories Within Our Community (Batch 2)

Photovoice is considered to be a method that is used in community based participatory research and to gather photographs and narratives of experiences that can be translated into actionable knowledge. Under Improving SRHR in Dhaka project SERAC-Bangladesh has organized 2nd batch photovoice orientations on September 2nd, 3rd and 15th, 2024 with support of Ipas Bangladesh. We have skilled 20 volunteers from Dhaka North and South city corporation on photovoice case stories write up and photo capturing on sexual and reproductive health and sexual and gender-based violence.

There were 23 case stories that came out from their community for media exhibition. The case stories have different aspects of SRH and SGBV including but not limited to family planning, post abortion care (PAC), reproductive coercion, child marriage, sexual exploitation, harassment, abuse violation of rights and many more. The project is technically supported by Ipas Bangladesh and funded by Global Affairs Canada via HealthBridge Foundation of Canada.
