VCAT Training for SRH Service Providers in Mymensingh

On February 29, SERAC-Bangladesh in collaboration with International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF)/SAAF organized a day long non-residential “Value Clarification Attitude Transformation training” under the Access to SRHR for Young Women to improve the skills of service providers of 12 public and private health centers in Mymensingh Sadar.

The training aims to identify the values that inform service providers current beliefs and attitudes about SRHR and be able to describe alternative values and their consequences. This will help them distinguish between assumptions, myths, and realities surrounding unwanted pregnancy of the women and families who experience them. They choose and affirm values that inform their attitudes and beliefs toward the provision of comprehensive SRH service and Post Abortion Care. 

The training was held in presence of SERAC-Bangladesh Executive Director SM Shaikat, Deputy Director, District Family Planning Office, Mymensingh, Kazi Mahfuzul Karim, Upazila Family Planning officer; Md. Mahadi Hasan Khan and Doctors, Sub-assistant community medical officer, Family planning visitors, Nurse, Director and Managers from 12 health facilities took part in the event. Among others, SERAC-Bangladesh Deputy Director (Programs) Md. Salim Miah, Program Manager Tasnia Ahmed, Program Officer Songita Sarkar, Associate Program Officer Lutfa Pathan, Program Associate Kamran Mia, Finance and Admin Associate Rabeya Akter Munmun and Program Development Intern Katha Mondal Dristy were also present in this occasion.
