SERAC Bangladesh, with support from CIVICUS, hosted Peace Adda in Mymensingh, bringing together young participants from across the city.
Youth leaders from diverse religious, ideological, and cultural backgrounds engaged in constructive dialogue on key national and global issues. The discussions highlighted the role of AI-generated misleading images and videos in spreading misinformation on social media and fueling conflicts, emphasizing the urgent need to promote fact-checking knowledge and awareness at the local level to address these challenges.
Participants also exchanged views on pressing issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic, floods, the energy crisis, syndicate influence, and artificial shortages caused by product hoarding. The session explored how young people can actively contribute to raising awareness and fostering resilience during such crises.
The event successfully reinforced dialogue, civic responsibility, and the commitment of youth toward positive social change.
