SERAC-Bangladesh has recently initiated the “Knowledge SUCCESS” project supported by USAID to create audiovisual materials on family planning and SRH awareness for adolescents contextualizing ballad songs in five regional dialects of the country with the coordination of the Directorate General of Family Planning.
As part of the program activity, ‘The National Level Consultation Meeting with IEM and MCH unit of DGFP’ was held on November 26, 2023 at the Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP) for embarking the next process ahead developing the contents. This is a follow-up meeting after accommodating all the recommendations in the 5 scripts from the previous IEC Technical Committee Meeting that happened at the beginning of the month.
The welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Md. Salim Miah, Deputy Director (Program) of SERAC-Bangladesh. The 5 scripts presented and described by Mr. SM Shaikat, Executive Director of SERAC-Bangladesh. Mr. Akash Sorker, Script Writer primarily rhythmed the contents.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Abdul Latif Molla, Director (IEM) & Line Director (IEC), IEM Unit, Directorate General of Family Planning. The other guests included Dr. Md. Monjur Hossain, Program Manager (A and RH), MCH-Services Unit, Directorate General of Family Planning, Ms. Asma Hasan, Deputy Director (PM), IEM Unit, Directorate General of Family Planning, Mr. M Naser Uddin, Editor Cum Translator, IEM Unit, Directorate General of Family Planning, Dr. Farid Uddin Ahmad, Line Director (CCSDP), CCSDP Unit, Directorate General of Family Planning, Assistant Directors of MCH Services Unit, Directorate General of Family Planning Dr. A N M Mostafa Kamal Mojumder, Dr. Zinat Sultana and Dr. Sharif Wasima Parvin, Dr. Abu Jamil Faisel, FP2030 CSO Focal Point, Mr. Akash Sorker, Script Writer of Sylhet, Mr. Fahim Rahman, Videographer of Knowledge SUCCESS contents, 4 youth advocates and 3 Volunteer Peer Leaders were presented among others. The chief guest of the meeting was Dr. Md. Muniruzzaman Siddiqui, Director, MCH Services Unit, Directorate General of Family Planning.
The VPLs and youth advocates also shared their opinion regarding their community mobilization activities and also remarked how this SBCC content would draw a tremendous positive impact on society. The meeting concluded with the suggestion of technical improvement in all the contents by the distinguished guests and the participants.
