On March 3, 2024, a workshop was organized in the Rangpur City Corporation to determine the terms of reference and work plan of the newly elected Urban Youth Council members.
During this workshop, strategic planning was emphasized, focusing on how the Mayor and Youth Councilors, with the assistance of City Corporation, can effectively manage new initiatives and relevant programs. The aim is to build a robust and skilled team of Youth Council members, ensuring their strength and competence for future endeavors.
Present at the workshop were SM Shaikat, the Executive Director of SERAC-Bangladesh, Deputy Director Md. Salim Miah, Communication and Outreach Officer Mizanur Rahman Akanda, Associate Program Officer Lutfa Pathan, and Tithi Majumdar, the Coordinator of SERAC in Rangpur.
Notably, the collaboration between SERAC-Bangladesh, Rangpur City Corporation, and the UNDEF and UN-Habitat initiatives played a crucial role in the formation of the Rangpur 1st Urban Youth Council through its the 2023 election. The introduction ceremony and oath-taking ceremony have been successfully conducted in February.
