In the Reimagining Civic Engagement category, SM Shaikat’s groundbreaking work in initiating the Urban Youth Councils project in 4 Bangladeshi cities of Mymensingh, Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Narayanganj has been recognized for its innovative approach to empowering youth and fostering democratic involvement. Through this initiative, SM Shaikat and SERAC-Bangladesh are driving positive change and reimagining the future of civic engagement in Bangladesh and beyond. To note, his initiative was chosen among 700+ international initiatives.
