A powerful convergence of youth leadership, community insights, and collaborative visioning took place at the Urban Crossroads: Navigating Fair Transition Together dialogue, jointly organized by SERAC-Bangladesh, WBB Trust, and RDRC, held at BRAC Centre Inn, Dhaka — with the generous support of Porticus.
The Urban Youth Councillors from Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Narayanganj participated as representatives of their respective cities. They shared how they are implementing grassroots, youth-led initiatives in collaboration with local governments (City Corporations) — offering powerful examples of partnership and co-creation in urban development.
In our featured session, “Voices from the Ground: Urban Futures Through Youth Eyes,” we highlighted youth-led insights on equity, inclusion, and resilience in the urban context. The voices of young changemakers reminded us that sustainable cities must be built with youth, not just for them.
Every session was highly participatory, encouraging meaningful engagement from all attendees. Distinguished guests from various sectors shared valuable insights and thoughtful recommendations, enriching the dialogue with diverse perspectives and forward-looking ideas.
This dialogue reinforced the urgent need for inclusive urban development driven by those most connected to the challenges and the solutions.
