Bi-annual Coordination Meeting with DGFP in Dhaka and Mymensingh

SERAC-Bangladesh under USAID Shukhi Jibon Project, supported by Pathfinder International Bangladesh organized the “Bi-Annual Collaboration Meeting of Adolescent Friendly Health Service” in Dhaka on January 19, 2022 and in Mymensingh on January 20, 2022, where in Dhaka the Deputy Director of District Family Planning, Mr. Mohammad Aman Ullah and Md. Anwar Hossain, Deputy Director of District Family Planning Office, Narayanganj attended along with Dr. Ratan Kumar Agorwala, Medical Officer of Shahid Shamsunnessa Arjumoni Ma O Shishu Kollan Kendro, Hazaribag.

In Mymensingh, the Divisional Director of Divisional Family Planning Office, Mymensingh, Mr. Md. Abdul Awal was the chief guest. Beside this, Mehrunnesa Chowdhury, Deputy Director of District Family Planning Office, Mymensingh; Md. Anisur Rahman, Deputy Director of District Family Planning Office, Netrokona, SERAC-Bangladesh staff, respective service providers of adolescent centers, and 40 Volunteer Peer Leaders from 20 Adolescent Health Services Centers of Dhaka, Narayanganj, Mymensingh, and Netrokona joined via offline & online.

The meetings were moderated by Md. Salim Miah, Assistant Director (Program) of SERAC-Bangladesh and made a presentation on SERAC-Bangladesh, Shukhi Jibon Project along with the updates, progress, recommendation of the VPLs appointed in the centers by Youth Capacity Building Associates Md. Shafiullah Lemon, Songita Sarker, and Monitoring and Evaluation Associate Mahisun Rashti.

The service providers, and volunteer peer leaders also shared their experiences, obstacles, recommendations and possible way out for providing effective services in adolescent friendly health service centers. DGFP officials delivered advice to promote Adolescent Friendly Health Services by increasing schools and community based programs in the centers areas.
