Connecting Youth Organizations to Enhance Access to SRHR Services and Climate Resilience

SERAC-Bangladeh hosted a high-impact national workshop titled “Connecting Youth Organizations to Enhance Access to SRHR Services and Climate Resilience”—as part of the Youth Catalyst initiative of UNFPA Bangladesh, funded by The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency-SIDA, and implemented by SERAC-Bangladesh.
This workshop served as a dynamic platform for youth-led and youth-focused organizations working across climate-vulnerable communities throughout the country. By connecting diverse actors under a common agenda, the event fostered inter-organizational collaboration to address the critical intersections of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and climate resilience.
Key highlights of the workshop included:
* Collaborative resource and service mapping;
* Experience-sharing across regional and thematic contexts;
* A participatory SWOT analysis to identify opportunities and challenges in youth-led SRHR and climate work;
* Sharing roadmap towards development of a national action plan and a youth-driven policy position paper that prioritize climate-resilient SRHR services.
The outcomes of this workshop will directly contribute to policy dialogues to be hosted across the country and ensuring that youth perspectives shape the path toward equitable SRHR services and climate adaptation strategies.
The event was attended by Dr. Muhammad Munir Hussain, Program Analyst, UNFPA Bangladesh; Dr. Rokhsana Yasmin, Project Technical Officer (HIV, STI, HGBV), UNFPA Bangladesh; SM Shaikat, Executive Director; Md. Salim Miah, Deputy Director of Program; Shahina Yasmin, Program Lead; Mizanur Rahman Akanda, Advocacy Specialist; Md. Nazmul Hasan, Innovation and Youth Specialist; Md.
