Today 25th November, SERAC-Bangladesh in collaboration with SAAF organized a district-level advocacy meeting was held in the districts of Mymensingh and Netrokona to ensure quality SRH services awareness under “Access to SRHR for Young Women” project.
The meeting was chaired by Shahin Hasan, Deputy Director of Mymensingh District Family Planning Office, and facilitated by Md. Salim Miah, Deputy Director of SERAC-Bangladesh. The Chief Guest, Md, Matiur Rahman, Divisional Director of Divisional Family Planning Office, Mymensingh, SM Shaikat, Executive Director, SERAC-Bangladesh, Niranjan Bandhu Dam, Deputy Director of Family Planning Office, Netrokona, Mohammad Kamal Hossain, Assistant Director of Mymensingh District Family Planning Office, and Upazila family planning officers, Program officer from Upazila Nirbahi office, medical officer and private hospital directors shared their remarks.
The discussion covered several key points, including the implementation of integrated actions to improve reproductive health services, amendments to the Private Medical College Establishment and Operation Policy of 2011, the provision of 10% bed services for underserved patients in private hospitals, and ensuring transparency in the data collected from health centers. The guest recommend to present center-wise data to track and enhance the quality of services. The directors of private health facilities committed to providing 10% bed services for underserved patients at their respective centers. Additionally, the meeting included discussions on conducting awareness campaigns in community health centers to further promote reproductive health education and services.
