District-Level Art Competition in Bandarban Showcases Youth Creativity on Climate Change and SRHR

Bandarban, Bangladesh — In a vibrant celebration of youth creativity and advocacy, SERAC-Bangladesh organized a District-Level Art Competition on “Climate Change, SRHR, and Service Challenges” under the Youth Catalyst Project of UNFPA, with support from Sida. The event brought together 30 talented adolescent and youth artists — 18 from schools and 12 from colleges — who showcased their creativity and perspectives on the intersection of climate change, health, rights, and community resilience.

The competition served as a powerful platform for young voices to express their ideas on building a climate-resilient and rights-based future, highlighting the critical role of youth in advancing sustainable development and social change through art.

Dignitaries and Guests

The program was chaired by Dr. Lelin Talukdar, Deputy Director of the District Family Planning Office, Bandarban. Dr. Shaheen Hossain Chowdhury, Civil Surgeon of Bandarban, and Md. Rezaul Karim, Assistant Director, honored the event with their inspiring remarks. Dr. Shahrier Tanvir Ahmed, Medical Officer of the CSO Office, Bandarban, joined as one of the esteemed judges, offering valuable insights in evaluating the artworks.

The session was graced by SM Shaikat, Executive Director of SERAC-Bangladesh, and facilitated by Mizanur Rahman Akanda, Advocacy Specialist at SERAC-Bangladesh, with the valuable support of Lutfa Pathan, Project Manager.

Recognizing Young Talent

The event concluded with the recognition of the top five artists from each group, whose exceptional artworks stood out for their creativity, depth, and powerful messages. Their art reflected the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of climate change and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) — showcasing how young people envision a future that is both environmentally sustainable and health-conscious.
