Empowering Youth for Peaceful Expression and Social Harmony

Empowering Youth for Peaceful Expression and Social Harmony is a youth-led initiative that seeks to address the increasing threat of mob violence and digital repression.

Over an 11-month period, the project will implement a series of interconnected interventions to promote lawful civic participation and reduce the risk of violence and misinformation. Through interactive street theater and protest artivism, young people will engage communities in conversations about peaceful protest strategies and civic rights. A mobile and board game on conflict resolution will provide a gamified learning experience, allowing youth to simulate protest scenarios and develop practical skills in legal literacy, safety, and non-violent advocacy.

The initiative will also establish “PeaceAdda” circles—safe dialogue spaces where activists can discuss grievances, build solidarity, and engage with legal and policy experts on protest-related rights and protections. A nationwide digital storytelling campaign under the hashtag #PeacefulBangladesh will counter misinformation and digital suppression, training youth in citizen journalism and online advocacy. To strengthen accountability and rapid response, the social media based alert platform will enable real-time reporting of protest-related violence, censorship, and repression, generating data for policy advocacy and legal action.

By integrating cultural storytelling, digital tools, community engagement, and data-driven advocacy, the project will engage over 5,000 youth, train at least 5,000 in peaceful protest methods, and analyze more than 100 cases of repression through crowdsourced reporting. The project will foster a culture of non-violent civic engagement, strengthen youth-led movements, and contribute to a more inclusive, democratic, and peaceful Bangladesh.
