On June 2, SERAC-Bangladesh successfully hosted a dynamic social media live session under its NutriTeens initiative, titled “Glow Up Summer: Teen Talk on Food, Fitness & Feeling Good!” This impactful event aimed to empower adolescents with practical knowledge on maintaining a healthy and confident lifestyle throughout the summer season.
Key Topics Covered:
✅ Nutritious and smart summer meal planning
✅ Hydration hacks and energy-boosting tips
✅ Fun fitness and simple lifestyle habits for teen wellness
The session featured valuable Insights from expert speakers: Rokeya Akther Sinthiya, Dietitian, and Sidratul Muntaha Misty, an adolescent volunteer from Mirpur-10. Their discussions addressed both physical and mental well-being through diet, hydration, and active living.
Md. Salim Miah, Deputy Director (Program), SERAC-Bangladesh, made a special appearance and emphasized the organization’s dedication to advancing adolescent health and nutrition. “Glow Up Summer beautifully reflected our commitment to empowering adolescents with the knowledge and habits they need to lead healthy, confident lives,” he noted.
Rokeya Akther Sinthiya highlighted the risks associated with the common summer trend of consuming excessive fast food and sugary drinks among teens, recommending hydrating fruits, homemade electrolyte drinks, and nutrient-rich light meals to combat dehydration and support mental health. She added, “A balanced diet plays a vital role in reducing stress, improving energy levels, and keeping teens focused and fresh during the hot months.”
From a teenager’s perspective, Sidratul Muntaha Misty shared, “As teens, what we eat during summer matters not just to fill our stomachs, but to feel great inside and out. Food directly affects our energy, mood, and confidence. Let’s make smarter choices to stay active, hydrated, and happy every day!”
The talk show was expertly moderated by Katha Mondal Dristi, Program Development Associate at SERAC-Bangladesh, who ensured a vibrant and engaging discussion.
In summary, the NutriTeens Talk show served as a powerful platform to raise awareness, engage youth voices, and foster healthier choices among adolescents. Through continued collaborative efforts, SERAC-Bangladesh remains committed to building a more informed, health-conscious generation across Bangladesh.
