Climate Action: Power Talks with Global Leaders

EVENT ORGANIZER:

The Conference of the Parties (COP) serves as the principal decision-making body of the Convention. Representatives from all States Parties convene at the COP to assess the Convention’s implementation and adopt legal instruments as needed to enhance its effectiveness. The upcoming 2024 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 29), scheduled for November in Baku, Azerbaijan, will prioritize advancing the objectives of both the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement. This includes endeavors to curb global warming, address climate change impacts, and secure funding for related initiatives.

SERAC-Bangladesh, a prominent youth-led organization, has spearheaded the largest youth-driven climate justice movement in the country: the Youth Coalition for Climate Justice (YCCJ). In alignment with COP29 objectives, SERAC is going to facilitate dialogue ‘Climate Action: Power Talks with Global Leaders’. These discussions will feature representatives from 11 focus countries sharing their recommendations and suggestions regarding climate-related challenges and solutions at the national level.
