Open House Day Event with the Narayanganj Urban Youth Council

In an inspiring step towards sustainable urban development, an Open House Day event was held with the Narayanganj Urban Youth Council, bringing together stakeholders from various sectors to align local initiatives. Organized by SERAC-Bangladesh supported by UN-Habitat and funding from the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF), this meeting served as a vital platform for youth and community members to collaborate, share ideas, and propose innovative solutions to the challenges facing their city.

The open consultations allowed participants to explore ways to strengthen their collaboration with the Narayanganj Urban Youth Council, reinforcing its position as a key driver of youth-led change. The event fostered meaningful conversations about the challenges faced by young people while emphasizing their critical role in shaping urban policy and decision-making.

A diverse array of young leaders participated in the event, including activists from the recent student movement, Scouts, Girl Guides, Red Crescent members, and representatives from third-gender communities, indigenous populations, ethnic minorities, and local organizations. This inclusive gathering ensured that every community had a voice in discussions about Narayanganj’s future.

To build on the progress made during the event, a dedicated Facebook group has been established to keep participants connected. This online platform will serve as a space for ongoing dialogue, idea-sharing, and future collaboration, ensuring that the momentum from the Open House Day continues to inspire positive change and further the vision for a more inclusive and sustainable Narayanganj.
