Orientation Meeting with Mymensingh District Administration and Stakeholders

Orientation meeting with Mymensingh District Administration and stakeholders through the “Strengthening Family Planning Through Advocacy Project” organized by Mymensingh District administration and SERAC-Bangladesh was held on January 30, 2022 in the city.

The meeting discussed in detail the project aims, objectives, various strategies for implementation of activities and the role of the District Advocacy Working Committee for strengthening family planning services and improving the quality of health services, and exchanged views with government officials and stakeholders.

Md. Salim Miah, Assistant Director (Program), SERAC-Bangladesh, delivered a detailed presentation on the progress of the project activities and project introduction for the implementation as well as overall activities of SERAC-Bangladesh.

The success stories of budget allocation in other areas implemented by partners of the project were presented to all. During open discussion, the discussants stressed on the main theme of the project allocation of budget for family planning by local government (the Union Parishad’s budget). Everyone present assured cooperation for the successful implementation of the project activities.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) was present  as the Chief Guest, Mr. Mohammad Parvejur Rahman and Deputy Director of District Family Planning Office, Ms. Meherunnesa Siddiquei was present as the Chair of the meeting. The President of the District Working Group, Mr. Nurul Amin Kalam and Vice-President Mr. Reazul Hasnat, General Secretary Mr. Moyeen Uddin,  and other members along with SERAC-Bangladesh staff including  Associate Program Officer Md. Shafiullah, Program Associates Salma Akter and Apurba Krishna Roy were also present on the occasion.
