On November 25, SERAC-Bangladesh, in collaboration with CIVICUS, organized a Peace Adda in Chandpur, bringing together local youth to discuss their role in ensuring a peaceful and participatory national election. Centered on the theme “The Role of Youth in Ensuring a Peaceful Election,” the discussion explored issues of electoral violence, irregularities, and the challenges to achieving fair and inclusive elections. Participants shared not only their concerns and experiences but also practical ideas on how young people can actively contribute to a transparent and violence-free electoral environment-through promoting democratic values, countering misinformation, raising voter awareness, and
engaging positively within their communities. The Adda ultimately evolved into a platform of collective commitment, where the youth reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening democratic participation, fostering civic responsibility, and supporting a peaceful election atmosphere. The Chandpur Peace Adda highlighted once again that young people are a powerful force for change, and their active engagement will play a vital role in shaping a more peaceful, fair, and participatory electoral future for the country.
