From 21–25 September 2025, in observance of #WorldContraceptionDay2025, SERAC-Bangladesh’s youth volunteers took the lead in organizing 5 free health camps across Dhaka North and South City Corporations (DNCC & DSCC). With General Practitioners, these volunteers actively promoted Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and family planning services, reaching communities that often have limited access to accurate health information.
The Volunteers engaged the community through miking, interactive group sessions, and door-to-door visits in areas including Ananda Bazar, Mirpur, Vatara Solmid, Notun Bazar, Manik Nagar, Mirpur-11, and Nobodoy Kacha Bazar. These health Camps were designed not only to inform but also to encourage dialogue, answer questions, and empower community members to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
In addition to awareness-raising, the health camps provided direct SRHR services more than 350 community people ensuring participants had immediate access to information, counseling, and support. By youth engagement with GP, these initiatives strengthened community trust, inspired participation and highlighted the crucial role of young people as agents of change.
This initiative was implemented under the #ISRHRD project, in collaboration with #Ipas_Bangladesh and funded by #GlobalAffairsCanada through the #HealthBridgeFoundation. It demonstrates how youth-led programs can effectively expand access to SRHR services, promote community awareness, and contribute to healthier, informed, and empowered communities.
