Annual Workplan Development Workshop 2024

Improving SRHR in Dhaka project has successfully completed 3 years of implementation and is going to step into its 4th year. SERAC-Bangladesh as one of the implementing partners joined the annual workplan development workshop on 5th-7th March, 2024 at Sarah Resort, Gazipur. SERAC’s ISRHRD project team led by the Executive Director- SM Shaikat joined this workshop. Dr. Ashrafi Ahmad, NDC, Additional Secretary (Population, Family Welfare and Law Wing), Medical Education and Family Welfare Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; Edward Cabrera, First Secretary (Development), High Commission of Canada; Dr. Momena Khatun, Health Technical Specialist (FSSP), of Global Affairs Canada; Cassandra Morris, Project Manager of HealthBridge Foundation of Canada; Dr. Sayed Rubayet, Country Director of Ipas Bangladesh; Dr. Altaf Hossain, Executive Director, BAPSA, Nished Rijal, Project Officer of HealthBridge Foundation of Canada; and Brigadier General Imrul-Al-Quais, Chief Health Officer of Dhaka North City Corporation also attended the 3 days’ workshop. 

Last 3 years’ achievements have been shared during the workshop. Besides, the team identified and discussed field level challenges and ways to mitigate those challenges by adopting new intervention on youth engagement and community mobilization for the rest of the project period. More focus was given on volunteer engagement and opportunities for their motivation as the 1200 young volunteers are playing a vital role in their respective communities to raise awareness on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender-based violence (GBV) under this project.
