Orientation of Community Youth Leaders on SBCC issues focusing SGBV

SERAC-Bangladesh has selected 194 youth leaders from 97 community action groups (CAGs) under Improving SRHR in Dhaka project based on their community engagement capacity, volunteer management skills, access to internet, geographical knowledge and a clear understanding of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).

SGBV is a cross cutting issue of this project and a crucial issue of the community to address. SERAC has organized 8 batches of orientation of community youth leaders on SBCC issues focusing on SGBV from April-December 2023 time period. Each batch includes 20 youth leaders from 10 different areas. This orientation is aimed at capacity development of the youth leaders on differences between sex and gender, types of violence, projonon shasthya bondhus’ role and referral mechanism. The project is technically supported by Ipas Bangladesh and funded by Global Affairs Canada via HealthBridge Foundation of Canada.
