ORIENTATION ON THE UYC VOTING PROCESS

SERAC-Bangladesh is working towards developing the leadership skills of young people and encouraging their participation in the democratic process through the “Advancing Engagement by Setting Up Urban Youth Councils in Bangladesh” project. The project is being implemented in four municipalities, including Narayanganj, Mymensingh, Rangpur, and Rajshahi. This is funded by UNDEF and supported by UN-HABITAT.

An orientation session was successfully conducted in the four city corporations to achieve its objective, wherein selected data collectors were trained on the UYC voting process. The training included information on how to register youth voters and the introduction of the UYC voting website.

The trainings were led by SERAC-Bangladesh’s Communication and Outreach Officer Mizanur Rahman Akanda, Program Associate Lutfa Pathan and Md. Shahadat Hossain and supported by the four divisional coordinators of SERAC-Bangladesh.
