Project Orientation Meeting with Netrokona District Administration and Stakeholders

Orientation meeting with Netrokona District Administration and stakeholders through the “Strengthening Family Planning Through Advocacy Project” organized by Netrokona District administration and SERAC-Bangladesh was held in the meeting room of the Netrokona District Administration.

The meeting discussed in detail the project aims, objectives, various strategies for implementation of activities and the role of the District Advocacy Working Committee for strengthening family planning services and improving the quality of health services, and exchanged views with government officials and stakeholders.

Md. Salim Miah, Assistant Director (Program), SERAC-Bangladesh, delivered a detailed presentation on the progress of the project activities and project introduction for the implementation as well as overall activities of SERAC-Bangladesh.

The success stories of budget allocation in other areas implemented by partners of the project were presented to all. During open discussion, the discussants stressed on the main theme of the project allocation of budget for family planning by local government (the Union Parishad’s budget). Everyone present assured cooperation for the successful implementation of the project activities.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud was present as the Chief Guest, Sadar Upazila Chairman, Mr. Md. Tafsir Uddin Khan was present as Special Guest and Deputy Director District Family Planning Office, Mr. Md. Anisur Rahman was present as the Chairman of the meeting. The President of the District Working Group, Mr. Md. Maruf Hasan Khan Avro and Vice-President, Prof. Md. Nazmul Kabir, Member Secretary Mr. Mazharul Haque Polash, Members Mr. Yousuf Ali, Ms. Zebun Nahar Borno, Mr. Priyas, and Ms. Rokiya Alom along with SERAC staff including Associate Finance & Admin Officer Probal Roy, Associate Program Officer Md. Shafiullah, Program Associates Salma Akter and Apurba Krishna Roy were also present on the occasion.
